CIRMA Hungary : 10 years & a new name!

Our structure located in Budapest just celebrated its 10th birthday!! Created in 2000 with 5 employees at the time, there are now more than 140 people, and the turnover reaches 5 million Euros. In Budapest, the services offered are the repair of mobile phones for the local market, repair of main-boards for TV sets and residential phones for different markets : altogether it represents more than 200 000 products handled per year.

In order to celebrate the birthday of this subsidiary, Serge CORDON welcomed customers and staff last 20th May in a nice place, as there are many in Budapest.
During his welcome speech, Mr Cordon announced officially the change of name of the company : indeed, in order to have one identity within the Group, Cirma Hungary is now named CORDON ELECTRONICS.

We wish CORDON ELECTRONICS Hungary a happy birthday and many new projects in the future!

RECYCLEZ MOI, the new website dedicated to mobiles recycling
“Do not throw away your mobile phone any more, you can offer it a second life!” Such is the creed of the new Web site “Recyclez-moi” (recycle me in english), a brand of CORDON ELECTRONICS, dedicated to the trade-in of mobile phones.
This site addresses all the users of mobiles, who wish to give a 2nd life to their former mobile. The vocation is to accompany the user in the renewal of its equipments, and to value what he wishes to replace: in good working order or out of order, the website proposes a trade-in value according to precise criteria. The recording (model, IMEI number, address etc..) is made on the site Recyclez-moi, then the telephone is sent by mail way. At the reception of the material, the teams will confirm the amount of the trade-in and the user will have the choice between receiving a purchase voucher to be used on the accessories e-shop www.cordonweb.com, or be credited on its bank account with the amount of the evaluation of the material, as well as the participation of RECYCLE ME for the expenses of sending. In addition, 1€ will be offered to one of the associations partners of “Recyclez-moi”

Cordon Electronics is the partner of the Vivendi Trophy & will take this opportunity to celebrate with its customers & partners the 20th birthday of the company.
“Thanks to CANAL+ EVENTS‘s initiative, the Vivendi Trophy with Severiano Ballesteros was created through a close collaboration with the European Tour, in order to reformat the tournament, and bring innovation and originality.

The first edition of the Vivendi Trophy with Severino Ballesteros, listed on the European Tour schedule, will take place from 24 to 27 September 2009 at the composite course at Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche, with two experienced captains, selected by the Rider Cup captain Colin Montgomerie. Denmark's Thomas Björn will lead the team from Continental Europe, whilst Irishman Paul McGinley will skipper the 10 players from Great Britain & Ireland
Organized by CANAL+ EVENTS, the Vivendi Trophy with Severiano Ballesteros will be played every 2 years (starting in 2009), alternately with the Ryder Cup, and will oppose the best players from Continental Europe to the elite from Great Britain and Ireland. Through this tournament, CANAL+ EVENT and Vivendi are committing to four years with the European Tour to offer in France a major new international golf meeting, promoting the sport's most spectacular and galvanizing form: team competition and Match Play.
The Vivendi Trophy with Severiano Ballesteros will be held alternately with the Vivendi Celebrity Trophy (from 2010), an official event on the PGA European Tour.”

20 years to the service of After-Sales!

Cordon Electronics celebrates this year its 20th birthday! Since 1989, CORDON ELECTRONICS is at the service of its customers and proposes global solutions in After-Sales service and logistics.
Cordon Electronics first started with the repair of Minitel, for France Telecom, and this for several years. Then, the arrival of GSM marked a turning point and enabled our company to diversify, in terms of customers but also on the products handled. 2000 was the year of our first geographical extensions, whether national or international : it thus helped us to prove our adaptation capabilities to new markets.
“ Nowadays, we diversified into TV, box, IT & other multimedia products. Our range of service is multiple and global. 14th Ladies Tennis Open in Saint-Malo

Faithful partner of this great tournament, CORDON ELECTRONICS accompanies again this year the 4th French Ladies International Tournament.
It will take place in Saint-Malo from September 19th to September 27th.

64 players (from the 30th world rank) will be facing on the outdoor clay courts to win the 2009 Trophy.

6 Hous Biking - September 13th

For the 11th consecutive year, the Team Cordon organizes its mountain Biking race, on September 13th in Plouer Sur Ranc (22).
This race is opened to all categories; each team will count 3 people. The race will start at 10am.

Faithful to the tradition, the Team Cordon will know how to reward the racers with numerous prizes (portable DVD player, mobile phones etc....

Visit of The Minister Michel Mercier in Dreux

July 9th, the Minister of the Rural Space and the Town and country Development Michel Mercier was in Dreux and visited two companies of the city, of which CORDON ELECTRONICS. Serge Cordon specially went to Dreux to meet Mr Mercier. The Minister showed a real interest for the activities of repair and recycling of electronic equipment developed by our company.

Official Inauguration of Dreux

On June 19th took place the official inauguration of our site of Dreux, in presence of local partners & elected representatives
Around 20 people assisted the presentation & visit.
After almost 2 years in Dreux, time had come for Cordon to make discover our company to the local partners & elected representatives.
Our Dreux site is now a representative site in terms of employees in the Dreux region, with more than 160 employees.

Chambery lost vs Zagreb

The team of Chambéry lost vs Zagreb (26-30), and thus missed the occasion to reach the Champions League Quarter Final. Still 1st of its group, Chambéry must win this coming sunday in Rhein-Neckar Lowen (Germany) to be qualified.

Cordon welcomes the members of the CEPR

In the scope of its monthly meetings, we had the pleasure to welcome on Thursday 26th February the members of the CEPR (Club of the companies located in the Pays de Rance (Dinan)), for a visit of our site of Dinan.

This quite unusual night visit at Cordon gathered more than 50 people. After a presentation of Cordon Electronics group, our guests were guided in our workshops by the Site Manager and the Group Quality Manager.

A cocktail was served after the visit; all of it took place in a very friendly atmosphere

Creation of Cordon S²MI

On February 2nd, CORDON ELECTRONICS created CORDON S²MI, subsidiary of CORDON ELECTRONICS Group. This structure takes over the employees and the activities of S²MI (former subsidiary of CARREFOUR Group). Its activities concern the In Warranty & Out of Warranty repairs, and the services in IT, for multiple brands.

We are happy to welcome our 59 new colleagues, located in Montluçon.

This take over will enable CORDON ELECTRONICS to widen its range of service, in particular in the field of IT products activities.

Cordon, partner of the Chambéry Handball Team

Thanks to its partnership with CANAL + Events, CORDON ELECTRONICS concluded a partnership with Chambéry Handball Club, for its European Championship Games. This partnership is materialised in particular by being one of their shirt’s sponsor, for all the European Matches until 2010.
At the moment 2nd of the French Championship, Chambéry is in a good position to play its first European quarterfinal. Recent winner in Croatia vs Zagreb, Chambéry played at home versus the Löwen German team (one of the best in Germany), in its brand new hall called Le Phare.
Chambéry, which won 25 to 23, will play versus Zagreb at home for their return match on Saturday 28th February.

This year, 74 teams entered the competition, a great success in a shiny day.

Everybody really competed in, in such a way that the winning team was only a few seconds in front. The first three teams successively took the head of the race, which had never been seen over the last 10 editions.

Creation of Cordon Multimedia

On April 1st, CORDON ELECTRONICS has created CORDON MULTIMEDIA, a wholly owned subsidiary. This structure took oved the staff and the activities of Thomson Customer Service Europe company (TCSE, subsidiary of Thomson. These activities concern the management of the After-Sales on Thomson TV and audio-video perimeter, but also concern the distribution of all the components of Thomson decoders on the European territory.

This acquisition will contribute to widen the service offer of CORDON ELECTRONICS group in the field of multimedia and decoders activities in particular.

Official Partner - 4th French Tennis Tournament

The 13th Open Gaz de France de Bretagne was held this year in Saint-Malo. Cordon Electronics, partner of this Open since several years, renewed its commitment to this prestigious women tennis tournament.
With a 125 000 $ prize and a 75 WTA points reward for the winner (the equivalent of a 1/16th final in Roland Garros), the Open is the 4th bigger women tennis tournament in France. Five weeks before Roland Garros and after the end of the American round, this tournament is a good preparation to one of the 4th Grand Slam Tournament.

CORDON ELECTRONICS expose au Salon Carrefour des T

CORDON ELECTRONICS a répondu à l’invitation de Carrefour pour participer à leur Salon annuel en tant qu’exposant, Porte de Versailles du 19 au 22 Septembre 2006. Ce salon destiné à l’ensemble des collaborateurs des magasins Carrefour était l’occasion de mieux se faire connaître, de communiquer directement avec nos interlocuteurs au quotidien : expliquer notre métier, notre façon de travailler, répondre aux différentes interrogations de chacun, le tout dans une grande convivialité.

Team Cordon - 6 hours Cross country biking

Almost 250 people joined in the competition this year. Despite weather conditions making the ground slippery, the race took place in good conditions. The victory returns to the team of the US VERN (Benoit Gloux, Michael Guillard, Stephane Barre).
The novelty for this edition(publishing) 2006 was the organization of a VTTathlon which will be held again next year, with some slight changes.

Golf Day in Augerville

Keen golfer, Serge Cordon had decided, once again, to welcome its faithful clients and partners in the magnificent setting of the Château d’Augerville, located near Fontainebleau on May 13th 2005.
Despite a rainy weather, the amateurs played the Pro-Am competition, accompanied by the best Pros of Western France who had accepted our invitation.

On their side, the beginners all gathered on the practice area with the Pro of the Club to enjoy the little white ball & discover the rules of golf.

Cirma Electronics, our new subsidiary

On April 8th, Cordon Electronics took over the telecom branch of Cirma Entreprise, in Saint-Loubès, near Bordeaux. This new subsidiary, wholly-owned by the Cordon group and now called Cirma Electronics has about a 100 employees and achieved sales 7 million€ in its most recent financial year. .
This acquisition completes Cordon Electronics presence in France & provides it with heavyweight approvals (HTC, Nokia, Sharp etc.). It also enhances its position of leader on the French market.
Furthermore, this take-over will enable the group to get new agreements & as a consequence, offer to its customers a global management in services as well as in logistics.
